About the Program

The Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) is now accepting applications for fully funded PhD positions starting in September 2026.

Our interdisciplinary PhD program offers research opportunities across:
Astronomy • Biology • Chemistry & Materials • Computer Science • Data Science & Scientific Computing • Earth Science • Mathematics • Neuroscience • Physics

Students with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field are encouraged to apply. 

ISTA provides internationally competitive salaries, full health insurance, cutting-edge scientific training, state-of-the-art facilities, and a dynamic, international community where all research is in English.
